Red 5 de Diciembre

from $16.00

Reminds us of : Pie Crust, Tree Sap, Orange Peel, & Molasses.

An organic coffee from Mazatec, Oaxaca, La Canada, we’ve taken this specialty washed blend of Bourbon, Typica, Caturra & Mundo Novo quite a bit dark.

The Red 5 de Diciembre network emerge amidst crisis in 2014, when coffee leaf rust spread through La Canada. On December 5th, a cooperative of 13 community groups gathered together to chart a new course - uniting 1,300 small indigenous producers under a single organization. Over the next six years, members invested in selective harvesting, specialty processing, and organic certification. In 2020, Red 5 de Diciembre teamed up with Ensembles de Cafe to guide the future direction and ensure the beans we have today are the very best lots from an area rich in history and experience.
